The Business of Death

All of society seems to be geared towards the business of death. War is highly profitable and the combined arms makers around the world make trillions of dollars a year. Even in my town we have Colt Canada which makes assault rifles, machine guns, grenade launchers and chain guns for the military and police forces both domestically and around the world. These weapons are designed solely for murder and murder well they do. We also have Raytheon which is the world’s largest producer of guided missiles. They make billions of dollars in missiles, guidance systems, lasers, computers, radars, military communication systems and satellite components. There are also various other companies, factories and facilities which support at one level or another, the business of death. They make components for fighter jets, military computers, armoured fighting vehicles, military satellites and radars.

It is not just the production or support of actual fighting equipment that is the business of death. It is also ingrained in all aspects of our society and thinking through media and the proliferation of poisons and toxins in our food, water and air. The television news stations, newspapers, movies and video games all contribute to this mentality by promoting, showcasing and profiting from strife. The most violent stories are always on the news, newspapers, television programming, video games and movies. The military equipment is glamorized and idolized in the media like they are metal gods. They rain down death 500 kilograms at a time from the safety of 15 000 metres in the air, going over 950 kilometres per hour at night in radar invisible aircraft, from over 500 kilometre stand off range with pin point laser or satellite guided accuracy; against people that couldn’t even defend themselves from World War One era aircraft and munitions. Sometimes these missions are piloted remotely from Air Force bunkers within the United States, posing no risk to the murderer whatsoever. It is almost like North America has become a war society whose sole function is to cause death and destruction in the world. Even our police are now equally, if not sometimes better equipped and trained than our light infantry and special forces.

Our health care system also seems to thrive on death providing the most dangerous drugs to society; alcohol, cigarettes and dangerous prescription drugs when much safer drugs both for the individual and society are made illegal, highly controlled, expensive, hard to get or stigmatized by ignorance and media. Alcohol is a leading cause of death in the world and the number one cause of violence in society whether through vehicular homicide aka “car accidents” (there is no such thing as an accident), fighting or domestic abuse. This gives the doctors, nurses, police, fire fighters, paramedics, lawyers, prisons, judges, security guards and drinking establishments something to do. The media, hospitals, life insurance, cemeteries, crematoriums, funeral parlors, tombstone makers and flower shops love premature, unnatural deaths and everything that gives them better business.

Let’s also not forget that premature, unnatural death is not just caused by direct violence by one individual to another but also by intense premeditation whereby the hostile individual tries to bring about the injury or death of another through manipulation of people and events. This can be done by provoking, insulting, threatening and then calling police when the individual defends themselves. This can also be done by taunting, spreading lies and rumours to people that are known to be hostile, or exposing people to dangerous or uncomfortable situations. This can be done both on an individual, national and global level in one form or another.

As you can see there is a lot of money to be made from the death of human beings. Those who benefit the most and make their living from death are probably the people that are most responsible for unnatural, premature deaths in our society whether they are consciously aware of it or not it. This fact should be brought to the public’s attention and those responsible should be given the option of a new means of making a living and put under intense scrutiny, then brought to justice.

As a society we should focus on the business of life. Expending energy on providing better and healthier ways of thought and living would turn our society into paradise. Imagine if all the time, energy, creativity and the trillions of dollars that are spent on killing, destroying and maiming with military, media, weapons, police, prisons, hospitals, alcohol and cigarettes were spent on increasing happiness, health, joy, quality of life, real education, proliferating true information to the people and eliminating all suffering and disease. People would wake up every morning excited to be alive and think about new ways to make the world a better place for themselves and everyone else since everything is connected and the universe is one living organism.
